I’m really disappointed there are very few members who were assigned to Ramey from 1968 until it closed. I have so many wonderful memories there, I met my wife, an island girl, who I’ve been married too for 42 years, our son was born at the base hospital. ChrisJack, as Publisher of ”View from the Tower,” I’d appreciate your perspective in a newsletter article. As a cold warrior from 69-70, I know we occupied a special time in PR’s and America’s Cold War years. Your observations would be of interest, much as those early soldiers who helped open Borinquen in 1939.

Jack DavisChris, I”ll put something together. I’ll need to find slides I took while stationed there as well as other photographs. I was stationed at Ramey from 68-71, then reurned in PRANG from 74-76. I also worked with the SAC team to coordinate the transfer to MAC.

I have been a member almost since the associations beginning. While I have not attended any of the reunions, I would like to. Only problem is there are so few, if any, members from the era I served at Ramey 1968 to 1971. Most seem to have served in the 50’s or earlier. It would be nice to see some of my old buddies.

From the 2011 Spirit of Ramey Reunion in Puerto Rico. Cathy Talkington and Joyce Lanier organized a group of us to help clean up a beach. It was really nice to give a little something back and everybody had a good time!
