Save the ”Connie”
I am designing a T shirt with “Save the Connie” across the top, a likeness of a C-121 and a couple of palm trees and Ramey Air Force Base Historical Association on the bottom. If there is enough interest in them, and with the blessing of the association, all proceeds after cost will go to a project for the Connie at Ramey. If there isn’t any interest, I will at least have a couple of nice t-shirts for myself. I will be wearing my shirt at the reunion. Keith Kreager

The T-shirts that were ordered during the reunion are ready. I will be sending them out tomorrow or Wednesday. Thank you all for your orders. It shows how much interest you have in this project. Peggy and I had a great time in Albuquerque. A big thanks to Chris and Kathie and anyone else who was involved with planning the event. We’re looking forward to next year at Ramey. ChrisGreat idea Keith. The Connie project is catching many members’ attention, and your shirt idea will enhance the projects ”sizzle” actor, especially if you wear it at the Reunion . I’d gladly buy one, if you can get an XL size and bring it down to Albuequerque.

RAFBH’s Board made the big move, approving up to $5,000 toward static restoration of Ramey’s well-known “Connie.” The motion is contingent on receiving full title, long-term lease or title to permant display area for it and other aircraft, no liens on the bird and donations of $50,000 to restore the legendary bird. RAFBHA’s Board is meeting to decide whether to endorse the Connie renovation. We’ve established a business plan, complete with steps required to give the project a chance of succeeding.
